We are seeking a talented and strategic Director of Public Relations who can spin stories, weave narratives and make our brand the talk of the town!  You’ll be the guardian of our public image, shaping perceptions and ensuring our story resonates far and wide.

What will you be responsible for /helping us to do? 

Communications Strategy:

  • Develop and lead the overall communications strategy for the business in collaboration with the Executive Committee (ExCo) and the brand team to stimulate Go City’s revenue opportunities
  • Shape the narrative around the Go City proposition, ensuring a compelling and industry-leading voice in the travel and tourism sectors covering both B2B and B2C.

Creative Publicity Campaigns:

  • Create and own a Go City PR Toolkit for reputation enhancement as well as promotional and marketing activities and calendars.
  • Possess the ability to create newsworthy events, develop story ideas and follow through with pitch leads to capture the media's and consumers' interest.
  • Execute PR campaigns that leverage both planned initiatives and timely responses to current events and news stories.

PR Planning and Execution:

  • Build a comprehensive public relations plan to amplify our message, securing high-volume positive coverage across traditional and digital media across the US, Europe and Asia Pacific.
  • Determine the optimal approach for execution to drive maximum efficiency, whether through external agencies, in-house resources, or a combination of both.
  • Expert in media relations, attending to their inquiries and requests on a day-to-day basis, as well as planning and hosting press conferences and other press activities
  • Ensures solid tracking of PR results and maintains a repository of press materials as well as a library of all coverage obtained.

Executive Profile Development:

  • Work closely with the CEO, CCO and other members of ExCo enhance their industry and thought leadership profiles, maintaining an annual calendar of efforts.
  • Fully manage and provide support for interviews, speaking engagements, and other opportunities to elevate their presence in the market.

Industry Events and Awards Programs:

  • Manage Go City's brand presence at industry events, ensuring a strong representation and networking opportunities.
  • Oversee the awards submission program to showcase our achievements and contributions to the industry.

Influencer and Social Media Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with the social media team to expand our reach through influencer, blogger, and vlogger outreach.
  • Assist to develop and implement strategies to maximize coverage and engagement across various social media platforms.

Requirements

 What skills do you have that are essential in this role? 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Media, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Entertainment or related field.
  • Experience working in the following industries is a plus: travel, ecommerce and media with a B2C scope.
  • At least 8 years of experience, with a few years in a senior PR role, with a track record of developing and executing successful communication strategies and obtaining a steady flow of media coverage.
  • Strong understanding of the travel and tourism sectors.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; proficiency of a second language is a plus
  • A strategic, creative thinker with the ability to generate innovative PR ideas.
  • Possess strong emotional intelligence with experience in managing external agencies and collaborating with cross-functional teams globally.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments, adapt to changing priorities, roll up one’s sleeves and get one’s hands dirty
  • Proactive, excellent organizational and project management skills.
